Meet Emily

she/her • sewist & creative

I’ve been sewing since my preteen years, with background in creative fields and a lifelong love for textiles. My journey has always been about resourceful thinking—finding creative ways to turn secondhand materials into something new and meaningful. After working in horticulture, my appreciation for nature's beauty became a core influence in the colors and designs you see in Woodbrick pieces today.

Woodbrick came to life after COVID as a way to combine all my skills and passions—transforming secondhand textiles into one-of-a-kind pieces and encouraging mindful, sustainable consumer practices. As an at-home parent, I don’t claim any fancy expertise, just a genuine love for creating unique, lasting items from materials that might otherwise be overlooked.

I’m driven by the stories behind the fabrics I work with and the people who wear them. Each piece carries its own history, and I take pride in giving unwanted materials new life. Designing for kids, who always want to express their individuality, is a special joy of mine. For me, it’s all about crafting sustainable, thoughtful pieces that last longer than trends and bring a bit of happiness into everyday life.

  • Sustainability

I make more by using what’s already out there. Every piece I create is from secondhand materials, reducing waste and encouraging thoughtful consumption—because fashion shouldn’t cost the planet.

  • Craftsmanship

Every piece is handmade by me, with my heart and hands working together. I believe in creating pieces that are not only beautiful but functional, so they can be loved and used for years to come.

  • Community

I’m all about connection—whether it’s through fabric, folks met, or other local makers. When you choose Woodbrick, you’re joining a community that cares about sustainability and supporting small businesses like mine.

  • Authenticity

What you see is what you get with me. No secrets, just stories. I’m open about where my materials come from and how I make each piece, so you can feel good knowing exactly what you’re wearing.
